Cobalt alloys have superior hot corrosion resistance in gas turbine environments due to their high chromium content. The forged microstructure gives Stellite 6B superior toughness and weldability, superior abrasive and erosional wear properties, and superior corrosion resistance compared to cast or welded Stellite 6B.
